Role Overview

We’re hiring an Associate or Associate Director to help expand MEVP’s presence in Morocco and North/Francophone Africa. You’ll work across the full investment cycle—from sourcing and due diligence to supporting founders and contributing to fund operations. This is a strategic role with regional visibility and growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Source, screen, and evaluate early-stage startups across various tech verticals and assess fit with MEVP’s investment thesis
• Lead/support the full deal lifecycle: deal acquisition, deep analysis, modeling, negotiation, structuring, and execution
• Conduct meetings with entrepreneurs and evaluate new industries and business models
• Represent MEVP at local events and tech conferences (e.g., Gitex Africa) across Morocco
• Form and maintain relationships with ecosystem players including DFIs, fund-of-funds, co-investors, accelerators, and entrepreneurs
• Help prepare detailed investment memoranda using insights from multiple sources
• Support drafting and negotiation of investment term sheets and legal documents
• Contribute to active portfolio monitoring and reporting, in collaboration with MEVP’s Finance team
• Lead all aspects of due diligence: market sizing, expert interviews, competitive analysis, customer calls, financial and unit economics modeling
• Contribute to internal operations, LP reporting, and firm-wide fundraising
• Conduct deep-dive research and produce content for thought leadership (e.g., articles, presentations, reports)
• Travel occasionally to Dubai, Riyadh, Cairo, Beirut, and other MENA hubs

Specific tasks include:

• Performing market research and expert interviews to identify trends, growth drivers, and market dynamics
• Developing or enhancing financial models with scenario analysis and sensitivity testing
• Monitoring portfolio companies with regular performance reporting
• Assisting the finance team in fund reporting and LP communication

Requirements

• Based in Casablanca, with willingness to travel across MENA
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in venture capital, startups, private equity, investment banking, or strategy consulting
• Deep familiarity with the Moroccan and African tech ecosystems; existing network is a strong plus
• Fluent in Arabic, French, and English
• Entrepreneurial spirit with strong problem-solving instincts and hands-on mentality
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across functions and borders
• High levels of integrity, self-awareness, and humility
• Comfortable with dynamic, fast-paced environments
• Commitment to excellence and ability to work independently and resourcefully
