As the Director of Operations, you will manage, design and improve the efficient, effective and long-term functioning of our internal and business processes. You will be responsible for any and all operations across all major departments and will be responsible for creating operational templates through which our business will scale vertically and horizontally. This role isn't just managerial — it's strategic, geared towards growth, and deeply involved in the day to day. You'll be at the forefront, driving change and facilitating our company's evolution as we continue to scale.

What you will do
- Design, plan and execute operational improvements across all major departments including customer support, risk, compliance, finance, accounting, fraud, data and back-office operations.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional team leads and individual contributors to deliver on company’s OKRs.
- Connect teams, systems and processes efficiently and effectively.
- You will be directly managing two core departments at Mamo: Customer Support and Risk, and this may branch out to other operations-relevant departments in the future.
- Manage the risk operations team.
- Manage commercial negotiations, and legal agreements with all third-party partners including but not limited to (banks, fintechs, PSPs, schemes, KYC providers, tooling providers).
- Ensure UAE operations are running smoothly with minimal bottlenecks and surprises.
- Scale our operations to new markets (like Saudi Arabia) by securing operational partnerships, internal processes and tooling.
- Use data and analytics to hunt for and eliminate inefficiencies across Mamo’s value chain.
- Develop, manage and implement effective and efficient measures across Mamo, including reporting and KPI's.
- Develop and implement standard operational policies and procedures.
- Maintain oversight of Mamo’s operational performance by monitoring and automating capabilities and maintenance of existing systems across all departments (most notably: support, finance and risk).
- You will also be responsible for scaling up operational capabilities and driving business objectives, and collaborate with the various departments, including geo expansion.
What we’re looking for
- 4+ years of experience in a leadership role in finance, payments, fintech or similar fields.
- Experience with managing other managers/leaders.
- Strong negotiation, communication skills and a second-nature ability to have candid / difficult conversations.
- Incredibly strong project management skills, and someone who is extremely attentive to details.
- Number crunching is second-nature to you. You have exceptional research and analysis skills. As such, you feel lighter when things are documented, and shared with current and future team mates. You are an effective coordinator, organizer and doer, leading by example through your actions.
- You are deeply customer-centric, placing the customer's experience at the forefront of decision-making and strategy. You are constantly thinking about how to improve the entire customer journey, driving business success by fostering strong, lasting customer relationships.
- You’re a fine and generous leader, and continuously check your ego. And someone who understands that by putting others first and adopting a service mindset, you can improve your communication and connection, and establish trust, deepen relationships and build business.
