The Engineering team builds the technology that powers Wego’s travel ecosystem across mobile and web platforms. Our Mobile Engineering team designs and delivers high-performance applications used across multiple markets, focusing on scalability, reliability, and user experience.

The Role

As a Senior iOS Engineer, you will take ownership of complex, multi-person projects that directly impact travelers across our markets. You will lead the design, architecture, and delivery of high-performance iOS features, setting the standard for technical excellence across our mobile ecosystem.

This is a hands-on leadership role for engineers who thrive on large-scale impact, balancing innovation, stability, and business needs. You will guide technical decisions, mentor peers, and champion engineering best practices across teams.

Wego is an AI-first engineering company. Senior engineers are expected to embrace AI tools as an essential part of their workflow, leveraging them to ideate, code, refactor, and test efficiently while maintaining high standards of correctness and quality.

What you will be working on

• Leading the design, development, and optimization of advanced iOS features using Swift and Apple frameworks

• Driving technical strategy and architecture for large components to ensure scalability and maintainability

• Partnering with product, design, and backend teams to deliver seamless and high-quality user journeys

• Using AI-assisted coding tools to enhance development speed and engineering quality

• Conducting in-depth code reviews and maintaining strong testing standards

• Profiling, debugging, and optimizing application performance across iOS devices

• Defining and implementing CI/CD practices for continuous testing and delivery

• Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a culture of learning and continuous improvement

• Contributing to architectural decisions that shape Wego’s mobile platform roadmap

Core Responsibilities

• Lead iOS development initiatives and deliver reliable, scalable features

• Drive architectural and performance excellence across mobile projects

• Champion AI-assisted development practices to improve productivity and quality

• Mentor engineers and contribute to the long-term technical direction of the mobile platform

Skills and Experience

• 7+ years of iOS development experience, including large-scale production app delivery

• Expertise in Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI with strong understanding of Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines

• Proven experience architecting applications using MVVM or Clean Architecture

• Strong understanding of concurrency, Combine, and modular architecture design

• Skilled in performance profiling, memory optimization, and debugging complex issues

• Experience integrating REST APIs, analytics tools, and monitoring systems

• Demonstrated ability to use AI coding tools to improve productivity while maintaining code quality

• Ability to review and validate AI-generated code for security, performance, and maintainability

• Strong collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional environments

Nice to Have

• Experience with Swift Concurrency, Combine, or cross-platform frameworks

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, crash analytics, and mobile DevOps practices

• Previous experience mentoring engineers or contributing to technical leadership

• Contributions to open-source projects or technical community engagement

• Familiarity with backend services, distributed systems, or mobile analytics pipelines
