Responsibilities:

As a Senior Backend Engineer at WegoPro, you will have the opportunity to work on an exciting range of technologies and platforms that power WegoPro’s portfolio of sites and services. You will be expected to design and build WegoPro’s next generation travel platform and deliver scalable, end-to-end solutions using a variety of technology stacks. Typically, members of the team are expected to perform the following functions and responsibilities:

1) Design and implement product features and functionality for WegoPro’s platform and services
2) Integrate with partners and build API's for external services on the WegoPro’s platform
3) Work with the Product, Business, and Sales teams to gather and understand requirements and deliver scalable solutions

4) Write high quality, maintainable code
5) Participate in design discussions, reviews and propose/implement solutions to technical problems and challenges

Requirements:

1) B.S and/or M.S in Computer Science or equivalent
2) 6+ years of working experience in the Software industry
3) Well versed with Object Oriented Programming concepts with a strong understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Computer Science fundamentals
4) Strong experience working on Node.js to build scalable web applications
5) Proficient in building Web Services and Restful APIs

6) Experience working with cloud based systems and infrastructure services such as AWS (Lambda, SQS, etc) and Serverless architectures is a plus
7) Experience with open source search engines such as ElasticSearch, SOLR, etc, and relational and NoSQL database systems such as MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc

8) Good Communication skills with an ability to work well in a team with a positive attitude
9) Passion and motivation to deliver in a fast paced, startup environment, with the desire to learn and be part of a highly experienced team
10) Strong work ethic with the ability to deliver in a fast paced working environment
