The Accounting Team Lead will oversee the daily operations of the accounting function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across financial reporting and processes. This role requires strong leadership, solid technical accounting expertise, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accountants and finance professionals.
- Allocate tasks, set priorities, and monitor team performance.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Financial Management
- Oversee general ledger activities, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Review and approve journal entries and financial statements.
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure adherence to local accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies as needed.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices.
- Support automation initiatives and enhancements to ERP systems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with finance, operations, and leadership teams to deliver actionable financial insights.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management to support decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
