A Category Manager Team Lead is a person who is responsible in building and maintaining strong, long-lasting supplier relationships based on trust and respect. The Category Manager Team Lead has to clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to upper management.





Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Category Managers to achieve category sales, margin, and growth targets.
  • Oversee the performance of multiple categories and ensure alignment with overall company strategy.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting supplier relationships based on trust and mutual growth.
  • Support the team in negotiating contracts and closing agreements to maximize profit and visibility.
  • Analyze category data and insights to identify trends, opportunities, and improvement areas.
  • Approve new listings, pricing, and promotional plans across categories.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to ensure smooth execution of initiatives.
  • Identify process gaps and propose solutions to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Act as the main point of contact between the commercial team and senior management for category updates and strategy alignment.

Requirements
  • Proven work experience as a Category Manager Team Lead, Senior Category Manager, or similar leadership role.
  • FMCG retail experience is a must; e-commerce retail experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and supply chain operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and developing teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills; proficiency in Tableau is a plus.
  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a relevant field.
