About the role

The Senior Engineering Operations Specialist plays a key role in driving operational excellence across the engineering organization. This role bridges people, processes, and technology - enabling engineering teams to deliver with higher velocity, quality, and predictability. You will lead initiatives to streamline workflows, improve visibility into delivery health, enhance tooling integration (Jira, Confluence, Atlas, etc.), and ensure alignment with strategic goals and cross-functional partners.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence & Process Optimization

• Design, implement, and continuously improve engineering workflows, including sprint, release, postmortem, and review cadences.
• Maintain and evolve operational playbooks and best practices to enhance team performance and delivery consistency.
• Analyze key engineering KPIs (velocity, throughput, PR lead time, bug rates, etc.) and drive data-informed decisions.
• Support engineering leadership in establishing and tracking OKRs and Atlas goals across multiple areas.

Tooling & Automation

• Administer and optimize Atlassian stack (Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Jira Product Discovery, Confluence, Atlas).
• Build automations, dashboards, and scripts to streamline reporting, improve traceability, and reduce manual effort.
• Collaborate with QA, PMO, and Support teams to unify tooling workflows and ensure data consistency across systems.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Partner with Product, QA, and Infrastructure teams to improve planning accuracy and reduce cross-team friction.
• Coordinate engineering-wide ceremonies such as tech bridges, postmortems, and area execution reviews.
• Act as a liaison between engineering and business functions to ensure operational alignment and transparency.

Governance & Reporting

• Maintain up-to-date engineering documentation, metrics dashboards, and performance trackers.
• Support MBRs/QBRs by consolidating delivery summaries, capacity updates, and incident learnings.
• Monitor SLA adherence for internal support requests and ensure timely follow-up on operational action items.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 4–7 years of experience in Engineering Operations, Technical Program Management, or related technical roles.
• Deep familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Advanced proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and automation frameworks (Jira Automations, Apps Script, etc.).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a knack for translating data into insights.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience with OKR management tools (Atlas, Ally, etc.).
• Understanding of QA processes, CI/CD pipelines, and release management.
• Scripting knowledge (Python, JavaScript, or SQL) for automation and reporting.
• Exposure to engineering metrics frameworks (DORA…).
