Main Responsibilities:
  • Temperature Monitoring: Regularly check and record temperatures of fridges, chillers, and freezers to ensure they are operating within safe ranges.
  • Hygiene & Cleanliness: Ensure all storage areas, including fridges, freezers, under-shelf areas, and the general warehouse, are clean and well-organized.
  • Expiry Date Control: Inspect products for expiry dates and make sure stock rotation is being used ( First Expired, First Out (FEFO)) method to minimize waste.
  • Pest Control Monitoring: Check rodent traps and insect control devices to confirm there is no pest activity. Report any signs of infestation immediately.
  • Product Freshness: Evaluate the freshness of perishable items, especially meat, poultry, and dairy, and ensure they are properly stored and not cross-contaminated.
Additional Tasks:
  • Receiving Inspections:
  • Inspect incoming deliveries for quality, correct labeling, and compliance with food safety standards.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain proper logs for temperature checks, cleaning schedules, pest control, and product inspections.
  • Labeling & Allergen Control:
  • Ensure all products are properly labeled with expiry dates and allergen information to meet food safety standards.
  • Training Support:
  • Assist in training new staff on hygiene, safety practices, and proper food handling procedures.
  • Compliance Audits:
  • Support internal or external audits by ensuring all processes meet food safety regulations and company standards.
Requirements:
  • A background in food safety, quality control, or public health.
  • Certification in Food Safety, HACCP, or a similar qualification is required.
  • Attention to detail, organization skills, and the ability to work independently.
