Role

As our Senior Product Engineer & Support Technical Lead, you will own the execution and continuous improvement of our support rotation across backend, web, Android, and iOS teams. You’ll be the go-to expert for production incidents, coach rotating engineers, and partner with Engineering and Product stakeholders to turn recurring support cases into long-term product or process enhancements.

Description

This position requires someone with a passion for backend development and experience guiding team members. As a Senior Product Engineer, you’ll enhance user satisfaction by proactively addressing production issues, automating repetitive operational tasks, and translating operational insights into strategic product improvements. Your work will directly shape the stability, efficiency, and quality of our applications. Your responsibilities will include:

Enhance User Experience:

  • Proactively identify and resolve production issues affecting end-user experience.
  • Implement measures to ensure consistent product reliability and uptime.

Lead the Rotational Support Team:

  • Onboard each week’s rotating engineers to the common issue domains.
  • Guide them through triage and resolution of support tickets, sharing your expertise across components.
  • Act as the go-to technical expert for complex problems spanning multiple areas of the platform.

Automate & Optimize:

  • Identify repetitive support tasks and automate solutions, freeing up resources for strategic projects.
  • Streamline incident management processes to minimize disruptions and accelerate resolutions.

Strategic Influence:

  • Translate operational insights into meaningful product enhancements and roadmap items.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to prioritize reliability-focused improvements.

Mentorship & Leadership:

  • Guide and mentor engineers in best practices for debugging, monitoring, and problem-solving.
  • Lead by example through technical expertise and thoughtful communication.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development with preferably 3+ years of experience in Laravel backend development.
  • Strong proficiency in one or more programming language such as PHP(with Laravel framework) , Java or Python.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong software design skills, with a track record of delivering on-time, highly scalable, secure, and performant products.
  • Hands-on coder with strong knowledge of software development principles such as OOP, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
  • Advanced experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, designing schemas, and complex SQL queries.
  • Advanced experience in caching and queuing systems such as Redis.
  • Expert using versioning and code management tools such as Git and Bitbucket, and in-depth knowledge of branching strategies.
  • Experience with cloud services such as AWS.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience with mentoring Engineers.

  • Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (Sentry, New Relic).
  • Previous experience with food delivery applications.
  • Excellent technical documentation skills.
  • Strong partnership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
