The Legal Collection Manager leads all legal activities related to payments, collections, settlements, and customer transactions. The role ensures compliance with financial regulations, mitigates legal risks, and supports business operations through sound legal advice, governance, and effective stakeholder management.
- Lead and oversee all legal matters related to collections, settlements, and customer transactions, ensuring full compliance with local and international financial regulations and central bank requirements.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with payment service providers, banks, fintech partners, and other stakeholders, safeguarding the company’s legal and commercial interests.
- Provide legal guidance on new products and initiatives, particularly in payments and digital financial services, ensuring regulatory alignment and risk mitigation.
- Manage regulatory interactions and audits, including licensing processes and submissions to authorities, while maintaining strong relationships with regulators and external counsel.
- Develop and implement legal policies and frameworks to minimize risk exposure, enhance compliance awareness, and train internal teams on legal and regulatory requirements.
- Handle disputes and customer claims related to payments and collections, providing legal direction on settlements, litigation, and enforcement actions.
- Monitor regulatory and industry developments in fintech and payments, assess their business impact, and collaborate with Compliance and Risk teams to strengthen governance and operational controls.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (Master’s degree or LL.M preferred).
- 8–10 years of legal experience in financial services, fintech, or banking.
- Strong understanding of payment systems, collections, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience managing regulatory relationships and external counsel.
- Excellent contract negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong business acumen and problem-solving abilities.
- Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
