Role overview
Fresha is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Vice President of Finance Strategy to join our team. As a seasoned VP of Finance Strategy, you will play a key role in driving the financial strategy and supporting the growth of our global company. This position requires a strong background in finance, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute the financial strategy to support Fresha's growth objectives, including setting financial goals and establishing financial planning processes.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Preparation and development of insightful performance reports, and analysis. Provide insights into the company's financial performance, trends, and forecasts. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards. Preparation of reporting and information to the Board of Directors, Shareholders and other key Stakeholders.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop realistic and achievable financial plans. Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Funding and Investor Relations: Manage relationships with investors and financial institutions. Support capital raising efforts, negotiate financing terms, and maintain strong communication channels. Provide financial insights and guidance to support investment decisions.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks by implementing internal controls, risk assessment processes, and financial policies. Monitor and analyse market trends, economic factors, and regulatory changes that may impact Fresha's financial position.
  • Cash Flow and Treasury Management: Optimise cash flow, liquidity, and working capital management. Ensure adequate funding for operations and growth initiatives. Enhance cash flow forecasting mechanisms and develop strategies to minimise financial risks.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions: Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships from a financial perspective. Conduct due diligence, financial modeling, and valuation analyses. Participate in negotiations and oversee the integration of acquired entities into Fresha's financial systems.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Build and lead a high-performing finance team. Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
  • Strategic Business Partnership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making. Act as a trusted advisor to the senior leadership team, offering financial expertise and guidance.
  • Technology and Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to leverage financial technology and automation solutions. Streamline financial processes, enhance efficiency, and improve data accuracy. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function

Performance Management and People Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor finance professionals, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to meet their objectives.
  • Provide ongoing feedback, conduct performance evaluations, and offer career development opportunities to drive individual and team growth.
  • Foster effective communication, teamwork, and knowledge sharing within the finance department and across other departments.
  • Promote a positive work environment that values diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement

Skills, experience & qualifications required

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. Master's degree or CPA qualification is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Experience in high-growth technology or SaaS companies preferred.
  • Financial Expertise: Deep knowledge of financial planning and analysis, financial modeling, reporting, and accounting principles. Strong understanding of SaaS metrics and business performance drivers.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and execute financial strategies that support business growth and manage risks effectively.
  • Investor Relations: Proven track record in managing relationships with investors and financial institutions, including successful fundraising.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and people management abilities, with a focus on building high-performing teams.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical abilities to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities in complex financial data. Strategic thinking and providing actionable insights.
  • Communication and Influencing Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to present financial information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Adaptability: Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, embracing change with flexibility and resilience.
