About The Role We're seeking a Backend Engineer (3-5 years experience) to join our Beirut office. You'll develop and maintain backend systems that serve millions of users, working in a high-talent-density environment where your contributions directly impact the product.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain scalable backend systems with comprehensive monitoring and observability
• Build robust APIs for customer-facing features and internal tools
• Solve scale challenges: high-concurrency events, real-time processing, sub-second response times
• Implement distributed systems patterns for reliability and fault tolerance
• Write clean, well-tested code and conduct thorough code reviews
• Collaborate with frontend engineers and product teams

Technical Challenges:

• Optimizing for traffic spikes during live events and content releases
• Building resilient microservices at scale
• Processing billions of user interactions in real-time
• Ensuring consistent performance across regions

Required Qualifications:

• 3-5 years backend development experience
• Experience with popular backend languages and frameworks (Go, Java/Kotlin/Spring, Python/Flask, etc.)
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Hands-on experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and Docker
• Understanding of microservices and distributed systems
• Solid testing practices and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in Go
• Kubernetes experience at scale
• Background in streaming technologies
• System design and architecture expertise
• Experience with observability tools
• PHP knowledge (for legacy systems)
